Sonicated Carbon Nanotube Catalysts for Efficient Point‐of‐use Water Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The growing demand for freshwater and rising contamination of water sources require innovative treatment technologies. Sonicated carbon nanotubes can activate persulfate for selective contaminant degradation via nonradical pathways. This scalable approach enables rapid pollutant removal, offering a sustainable solution for decentralized freshwater ...

Mechanistic Insights Into Proton and Oxygen Transport Through Ultrathin Amorphous Al2O3 and Al2O3‐SiO2 Electrocatalyst Overlayers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Ultrathin amorphous alumina electrocatalyst overlayers block oxygen reduction while cathodic‐driven structural relaxation accelerates proton transport over time. By contrast, ultrathin aluminosilicate coatings allow proton permeation but cannot suppress oxygen.

Scaled‐Up Graphene Growth Through Chemical Vapor Deposition Over Large‐Area Liquid Cu Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Scaling up the catalyst area fivefold and improving molten catalyst cleaning minimize reactor kinetic effects, enabling reaction kinetics to dominate graphene growth. This results in high‐quality graphene with controlled layering and measurable nucleation rates.

Durable Bio‐Based Nanocomposite Coating on Urinary Catheters Prevents Early‐Stage CAUTI‐Associated Pathogenicity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A stable bio‐based nanocomposite coating for urinary catheters is developed using a simple, environmentally‐friendly sonochemical process. The coating, integrating antimicrobial, antibiofilm, and antioxidant properties, effectively tackled multiple early‐stage pathogenic factors associated with catheter‐associated urinary tract infections.

Understanding the Growth and Properties of Sputter‐Deposited Phase‐Change Superlattice Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The study explores the sputter deposition of highly textured chalcogenide superlattice films for phase‐change memory applications. It examines the effects of temperature, pressure, and seeding layer on film growth, constructing a pseudo‐phase diagram to understand the effect of each growth parameter.

Turning Plastic Waste Immiscibility into an Advantage: Efficiency Improvement of PVDF‐Based Energy Harvesters Using Post‐Consumer Thermoplastics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Turning plastic waste immiscibility into an advantage: efficiency improvement of PVDF‐based energy harvesters using post‐consumer thermoplastics. The study highlights the synergy between thermoplastics waste and PVDF achieving remarkable voltage outputs ≈800 V surpassing traditional PVDF‐based nanogenerators. Abstract The immiscibility of plastic waste,
