Current Knowledge of Exposure to Tick-borne Pathogens among Rural Population in Cambodia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Infectious Diseases
Introduction: Ticks transmit a greater variety of pathogenic agents than any other blood-feeding arthropods, posing a profound impact on the economy of livestock farming and human health concerns.

Exploring the Power of Content and Visitor Sentiment: A Study of Web Traffic Dynamics in South Africa’s Residential Real Estate Landscape

open access: yesReal Estate
The real estate sector has increasingly shifted toward digital platforms, where content sentiment plays a crucial yet understudied role in driving user engagement. While sentiment analysis has been widely applied in retail and finance, its impact on real

Epiphytic lichens of woodland habitats in the lower Ticino river valley and in the “Bosco Siro Negri” Integral Nature State Reserve (NW Italy)

open access: yesNatural History Sciences, 2021
Epiphytic lichens were surveyed in the “Bosco Siro Negri” Integral Nature State Reserve (province of Pavia, Lombardy, NW Italy), which hosts a well-preserved fragment of oak-elm floodplain forest (Natura 2000 Habitat 91F0).

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Effectiveness of the Natura 2000 network to cover threatened species

open access: yesNature Conservation, 2013
The world‘s biodiversity is currently in rapid decline - Europe being no exception - with as principal cause a human-mediated global change. The Natura 2000 network is an important conservation tool for European biodiversity; it is a network of ...

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Structural Change in Romanian Land Use and Land Cover (1990–2018): A Multi-Index Analysis Integrating Kolmogorov Complexity, Fractal Analysis, and GLCM Texture Measures

open access: yesGeomatics
Monitoring land use and land cover (LULC) transformations is essential for understanding socio-ecological dynamics. This study assesses structural shifts in Romania’s landscapes between 1990 and 2018 by integrating algorithmic complexity, fractal ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
