A noncooperative model of contest network formation [PDF]
AbstractIn this paper we study a model of weighted network formation. The bilateral interaction is modeled as a Tullock contest game with the possibility of a draw. We describe stable networks under different concepts of stability. We show that a Nash stable network is either the empty network or the complete network. The complete network is not immune

Computational model of a modulatory cell type in the feeding network of the snail, Lymnaea stagnalis [PDF]
Realistic mathematical models of single neurons are significant in assessing the contribution of specific ionic conductances to neuronal excitability.

NETWORK FORMATION UNDER HETEROGENEOUS COSTS: THE MULTIPLE GROUP MODEL [PDF]
It is widely recognized that the shape of networks influences both individual and aggregate behavior. This raises the question which types of networks are likely to arise. In this paper we investigate a model of network formation, where players are divided into groups and the costs of a link between any pair of players are increasing in the distance ...

Graph Networks as a Universal Machine Learning Framework for Molecules and Crystals [PDF]
Graph networks are a new machine learning (ML) paradigm that supports both relational reasoning and combinatorial generalization. Here, we develop universal MatErials Graph Network (MEGNet) models for accurate property prediction in both molecules and ...

An empirical model for strategic network formation [PDF]
We develop and analyze a tractable empirical model for strategic network formation that can be estimated with data from a single network at a single point in time. We model the network formation as a sequential process where in each period a single randomly selected pair of agents has the opportunity to form a link.

Many natural and artificial networks contain overrepresented subgraphs, which have been termed network motifs. In this article, we investigate the processes that led to the formation of the two most common network motifs in eukaryote transcription factor
