A Non-Cooperative Game Theoretical Approach For Power Control In Virtual MIMO Wireless Sensor Network [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Power management is one of the vital issue in wireless sensor networks, where the lifetime of the network relies on battery powered nodes. Transmitting at high power reduces the lifetime of both the nodes and the network.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Dynamic energy balanced max flow routing in energy-harvesting sensor networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2017
We propose a dynamic energy balanced max flow routing algorithm to maximize load flow within the network lifetime and balance energy consumption to prolong the network lifetime in an energy-harvesting wireless sensor network.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Controlled Sink Mobility Algorithms for Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2014
A wireless sensor network (WSN) consists of hundreds or thousands of sensor nodes organized in an ad hoc manner to achieve a predefined goal. Although WSNs have limitations in terms of memory and processors, the main constraint that makes WSNs different ...

Partner selection in indoor-to-outdoor cooperative networks: an experimental study

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, we develop a partner selection protocol for enhancing the network lifetime in cooperative wireless networks. The case-study is the cooperative relayed transmission from fixed indoor nodes to a common outdoor access point.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Adaptive Duty-Cycling to Enhance Topology Control Schemes in Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2014
To prolong the network lifetime, various scheduling approaches that schedule wireless devices of nodes to switch between active and sleep states have been studied.

HEER: Hybrid Energy Efficient Reactive Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yes, 2013
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) consist of numerous sensors which send sensed data to base station. Energy conservation is an important issue for sensor nodes as they have limited power. Many routing protocols have been proposed earlier for energy ...
