Minimal residual disease (MRD) leads to cancer relapse and poor survival in ovarian cancer. The lack of representative 3D models limits therapy development. The microfluidics‐based high throughput 3D microtumor platform described here generates clinically‐relevant MRD models. The 3D microtumors recapitulate the molecular signatures of MRD from patients.

Abstract Background Atherosclerosis (AS) is a fundamental pathological state in various cardiovascular diseases. Geniposide, which is the main active component of Gardenia jasminides, is effective against AS. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we sought to elucidate them.

Glucocorticoids Alter Bone Microvascular Barrier via MAPK/Connexin43 Mechanisms
Osteoporosis induced by Glucocorticoids (GCs) is a common complication of long‐term GC use in patients with inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, often leading to an increased fracture risk. A 3D bicellular endo‐osteo microfluidic platform is developed to explore pathogenic mechanisms underlying GCs‐induced osteoporosis, highlighting a novel MAPK ...

Systems pharmacology – Towards the modeling of network interactions
Mechanism-based pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics (PKPD) and disease system (DS) models have been introduced in drug discovery and development research, to predict in a quantitative manner the effect of drug treatment in vivo in health and disease. This requires consideration of several fundamental properties of biological systems behavior including:
