Communication Networks in Insect Societies
2008We show in this paper how communication networks can form spontaneously in social insects through self-organisation. Different models associated to food recruitment and clustering behaviour are analysed giving rise to temporal and spatio-temporal patterns. The conditions under which the response is optimised are also identified.
