Synthesis of Available Networks

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1976
In order to design an available network efficiently, a parameter characterizing the network availability is needed. The global availability is suggested and algorithms are given for its exact or approximate evaluation. The design of minimum cost networks with a given availability is discussed for different models of the cost-availability function in ...

Synthesis of a Communication Network

Journal of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, 1964
Summary: A communication network is a set of nodes connected by arcs. Every arc has associated with it a nonnegative number called the branch capacity which indicates the maximum amount of flow that can pass through the arc. A communication network must have large enough branch capacities such that all message requirements (which can be regarded as ...

Bridge-network synthesis

Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1968
The paper deals with the equivalence of a bridge section to either a Darlington D section or two Brune sections, and with the extraction of this bridge section from a general reactance and an impedance function. Theorems specifying the necessary and sufficient conditions for section extraction are given in terms of the impedance function.

Synthesis of reverberating neural networks

Kybernetik, 1970
In the first Part explicit methods are given, following the work of Refs. [1–3], for the design of networks whose reverberations cannot exceed prefixed periods no matter how coefficients are changed, as well as of networks obeying pre-assigned constants of motion.

Combinatorial Synthesis of Genetic Networks

Science, 2002
A central problem in biology is determining how genes interact as parts of functional networks. Creation and analysis of synthetic networks, composed of well-characterized genetic elements, provide a framework for theoretical modeling. Here, with the use of a combinatorial method, a library of networks with varying connectivity was

Linearly variable networks: II— synthesis

Journal of the Franklin Institute, 1980
Abstract Synthesis techniques are given for any one element kind driving point function in two variables, s and x. Conditions for the realization of some two element kind driving point functions in s and x are also developed. Using active elements, any such function is shown to be realizable.

Network Synthesis Through Hybrid Matrices

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1966
Abstract : It is shown that the hybrid parameter matrix of a passive n-port network is a positive real matrix function. The hybrid, chain and immittance parameter matrices all have the same degree. The concept of combinatorial equivalence is extended from the linear programming field to network synthesis.
