Boundary states and finite size effects in sine-Gordon model with Neumann boundary condition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The sine-Gordon model with Neumann boundary condition is investigated. Using the bootstrap principle the spectrum of boundary bound states is established.

Ferroelectric Devices for In‐Memory and In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by biological systems, in‐memory and in‐sensor computing overcome von Neumann bottlenecks. Ferroelectric devices can mimic synaptic functions and sense stimuli like light or force, therefore are ideal for these paradigms. This review introduces the ferroelectric devices applied for in‐memory and in‐sensor computing, covering their structures ...

Advances and Perspectives in Graphene‐Based Quantum Dots Enabled Neuromorphic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Graphene‐based QDs are zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials with pronounced quantum confinement and tunable electronic structures. Herein, we summarize their synthesis strategies and functionalization methods, and highlight their functional roles and operating mechanisms in devices, as well as recent advances in neuromorphic electronics. We anticipate

On the time to tracer equilibrium in the global ocean [PDF]

open access: yesOcean Science, 2009
An important issue for the interpretation of data from deep-sea cores is the time for tracers to be transported from the sea surface to the deep ocean.

Eigenstructure of the equilateral triangle. Part III. The Robin problem

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2004
Lamé's formulas for the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the Laplacian on an equilateral triangle under Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions are herein extended to the Robin boundary condition.

The Neumann boundary condition for the two-dimensional Lax-Wendroff scheme

open access: yes, 2022
We study the stability of the two-dimensional Lax-Wendroff scheme with a stabilizer that approximates solutions to the transport equation. The problem is first analyzed in the whole space in order to show that the so-called energy method yields an ...

High‐Power Terahertz Emission from Picosecond Nano‐Plasma Switching Driven by Secondary Electron Emission Avalanche

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nano‐plasma device enables watt‐level on‐chip THz generation through picosecond switching triggered by secondary electron emission avalanche. An ultra‐dense electron sheet initiates nano‐plasma formation within a ∼100 nm gap, driving rapid energy release into an integrated resonator.

Higher-Order Energy Expansions and Spike Locations

open access: yes, 2004
We consider the following singularly perturbed semilinear elliptic problem: (I)\left\{ \begin{array}{l} \epsilon^{2} \Delta u - u + f(u)=0 \ \ \mbox{in} \ \Omega, \\ u>0 \ \ \mbox{in} \ \ \Omega \ \ \mbox{and} \ \frac{\partial u}{\partial \nu}
