On cardinal invariants and generators for von Neumann algebras

open access: yes, 2009
We demonstrate how virtually all common cardinal invariants associated to a von Neumann algebra M can be computed from the decomposability number, dec(M), and the minimal cardinality of a generating set, gen(M).

A Scalable Perovskite Platform With Multi‐State Photoresponsivity for In‐Sensor Saliency Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable in‐sensor computing platform (32 × 32 array) with ultra‐low variability is developed by incorporating ferroelectric copolymers into halide perovskite thin films. These devices achieve 1000 programmable photoresponsivity states and high thermal reliability.

Nonlinear nonhomogeneous Neumann eigenvalue problems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2015
Summary: We consider a nonlinear parametric Neumann problem driven by a nonhomogeneous differential operator with a reaction which is \((p-1)\)-superlinear near \(\pm\infty\) and exhibits concave terms near zero. We show that for all small values of the parameter, the problem has at least five solutions, four of constant sign and the fifth nodal.

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Optimality Conditions for Infinite Order Distributed Parabolic Systems with Multiple Time Delays Given in Integral Form

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
The optimal boundary control problem for (n×n) infinite order distributed parabolic systems with multiple time delays given in the integral form both in the state equations and in the Neumann boundary conditions is considered. Constraints on controls are

AutomataGPT: Transformer‐Based Forecasting and Ruleset Inference for Two‐Dimensional Cellular Automata

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce AutomataGPT, a generative pretrained transformer (GPT) trained on synthetic spatiotemporal data from 2D cellular automata to learn symbolic rules. Demonstrating strong performance on both forward and inverse tasks, AutomataGPT establishes a scalable, domain‐agnostic framework for interpretable modeling, paving the way for future ...

Inhomogeneous Neumann problem with critical Sobolev exponent

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis, 2012
We investigate the solvability of the inhomogeneous Neumann problem involving the critical Sobolev exponent. In particular, we discuss the impact of the shape of the graph of the coefficient of the critical exponent on the existence of a solution.

Pointwise observation of the state given by parabolic system with boundary condition involving multiple time delays

open access: yesArchives of Control Sciences, 2016
Various optimization problems for linear parabolic systems with multiple constant time delays are considered. In this paper, we consider an optimal distributed control problem for a linear parabolic system in which multiple constant time delays appear in
