Zip Property on Malcev-Neumann Series Modules

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 2015
Let R be a ring, MR a right R-module, G a totally ordered group, σ a map from G into the group of automorphisms of R which assigns to each x ∈ G an automorphism σ_x ∈ Aut(R), τ a map from G × G to U(R) (the group of unit elements of R) and M((G; σ ; τ ...

Anxiety and Politics

open access: yestripleC: Communication, Capitalism & Critique, 2017
The English version of this article was first published in 1957. The journal tripleC: Communication, Capitalism & Critique republished it 60 years later in 2017. In this essay, Franz L. Neumann discusses the role of anxiety in politics. The article asks:

Multi‐Scale Interface Engineering of MXenes for Multifunctional Sensory Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXenes, as two‐dimensional transition metal carbides and nitrides, demonstrate remarkable capabilities for multifunctional sensing applications. This review systematically examines multi‐scale interface engineering approaches that enhance sensing performance, enable diverse detection functionalities, and improve system‐level compatibility in MXene ...

Green’s Function In Free Axisymmetric Vibration Analysis Of Annular Thin Plates With Different Boundary Conditions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2015
Free vibration analysis of homogeneous and isotropic annular thin plates by using Green’s functions is considered. The formula of the influence function for uniform thin circular and annular plates is presented in closed-form.

Signal Propagation, with Application to a Lower Bound on the Depth of Noisy Formulas [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
We study the decay of an information signal propagating through a series of noisy channels. We obtain exact bounds on such decay, and as a result provide a new lower bound on the depth of formulas with noisy components.

Thermally Engineered Sodium‐Embedded Alumina with Programmable Synaptic Plasticity for Neuromorphic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fully transparent, all‐metal‐oxide neuromorphic transistor using a sodium‐embedded alumina (SEA) electrolyte is demonstrated. By precisely tuning the thermal annealing process, the chemical composition of the SEA layer is controlled, allowing for the deterministic realization of both short‐term and long‐term synaptic plasticity within the same device

Achieving High ON State Current through Ferroelectric Polarization‐Dependent Interfacial Resistance Switching in Undoped Orthorhombic HfO2 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric tunnel junction devices based on epitaxial undoped ferroelectric HfO2 films demonstrate stable switching endurance of over 106 switching cycles, low write voltages of ±3 V, 16 measured resistance states, and neuromorphic capability.

Weighted $L^2$-cohomology of Coxeter groups

open access: yes, 2006
Given a Coxeter system $(W,S)$ and a positive real multiparameter $\bq$, we study the "weighted $L^2$-cohomology groups," of a certain simplicial complex $\Sigma$ associated to $(W,S)$.

On the Computation of Neumann Series

open access: yes, 2017
This paper proposes new factorizations for computing the Neumann series. The factorizations are based on fast algorithms for small prime sizes series and the splitting of large sizes into several smaller ones. We propose a different basis for factorizations other than the well-known binary and ternary basis.

Topology and Material Optimization in Ultra‐Soft Magneto‐Active Structures: Making Advantage of Residual Anisotropies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Residual magnetization induces pronounced mechanical anisotropy in ultra‐soft magnetorheological elastomers, shaping deformation and actuation even without external magnetic fields. This study introduces a computational‐experimental framework integrating magneto‐mechanical coupling into topology optimization for designing soft magnetic actuators with ...
