The Earliest Known Radiation of Pitheciine Primates

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Primatology, Volume 87, Issue 5, May 2025.
Right mandible and dentition of the holotype of Soriacebus ameghinorum (MACN Pv SC2), from the Early Miocene of Patagonia, compared with the living Cacajao calvus (FMNH 88813, cast), both representing extinct and extant morphologies of the Pitheciinae: Procumbent and styliform incisors and projecting canines represent a morphological complex for ...

Acute kidney injury and rhabdomyolysis induced by severe hypothyroidism. Case report

open access: yesNefrología Latinoamericana
Acute kidney injury (AKI) caused by hypothyroidism-induced rhabdomyolysis is a rare and severe syndrome. We present a 67-year-old male with heart failure on chronic statin therapy who developed nontraumatic rhabdomyolysis due to severehypothyroidism ...

Sedimentary architecture of an ancient linear megadune (Barremian, Neuquén Basin): Insights into the long‐term development and evolution of aeolian linear bedforms

open access: yesSedimentology, 2019
Linear aeolian bedforms are the most abundant bedform type in Earth's dune fields, and are very common in the Solar System. Despite their abundance, the long‐term development of these bedforms and its impact upon the resulting sedimentary architecture in

Transport and Depositional Processes of Neogene Pumice Fragments in a Distal Fluvial System of the Northern Patagonian Foreland (Argentina)

open access: yesBasin Research, Volume 37, Issue 3, May/June 2025.
In this work we analyse the origin, transport, and deposition processes of pumice fragments up to 30 cm in size, deposited in the Northern Patagonian Foreland more than 200 km from the Andean volcanic arc. ABSTRACT There are numerous studies analysing volcaniclastic supply to continental environments in distal areas from source volcanoes.

Systematic and taxonomic revision of the genus Austrocactus (Cactaceae) based on morphology and genome wide SNP‐data

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 74, Issue 2, Page 386-416, April 2025.
Abstract The post‐Miocene climatic history of arid environments in South America has been identified as a key driver of dispersal and diversification, particularly among plant groups such as Cactaceae. Despite their iconic status, many cactus genera remain poorly understood, and comprehensive taxonomic and systematic revisions using morphological and ...

Direct Laser Interference Patterning of Fluorine‐Doped Tin Oxide as a Pathway to Higher Efficiency in Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 9, February 26, 2025.
The patterning of FTO substrates using a four‐beam DLIP technique based on a UV picosecond laser radiation leads to improved photovoltaic efficiency and stability of metal halide perovskite solar cells, suggesting that DLIP surface treatment of FTO thin films can be an effective tool for further advancing the device performance.
