Quantum $k$-core conduction on the Bethe lattice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Classical and quantum conduction on a bond-diluted Bethe lattice is considered. The bond dilution is subject to the constraint that every occupied bond must have at least $k-1$ neighboring occupied bonds, i.e. $k$-core diluted. In the classical case, we find the onset of conduction for $k=2$ is continuous, while for $k=3$, the onset of conduction is ...

Is there a "native" band gap in ion conducting glasses? [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Non-Cryst. Solids 324, 192 (2003)., 2002
It is suggested that the spectrum of ion site energies in glasses exhibits a band gap, establishing an analogy between ion conducting glasses and intrinsic semiconductors. This implies that ion conduction in glasses takes place via vacancies and interstitial ions (as in crystals).

Effect of the topology and delayed interactions in neuronal networks synchronization. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
As important as the intrinsic properties of an individual nervous cell stands the network of neurons in which it is embedded and by virtue of which it acquires great part of its responsiveness and functionality.

Clinical features of autoimmune autonomic neuropathy with onset of acute autonomic nerve dysfunction

open access: yesChinese Journal of Contemporary Neurology and Neurosurgery, 2020
Background Autoimmune autonomic neuropathy with onset of acute autonomic nerve dysfunction is often misdiagnosed because its main symptoms are syncope and gastrointestinal motility disorder.

Retinal function and neural conduction along the visual pathways in affected and unaffected carriers with Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy.

open access: yesInvestigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, 2013
PURPOSE We assessed retinal ganglion cell (RGC) function, and established a correlation between the neural conduction along the visual pathways and the retinal involvement in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON). METHODS A total of 39 individuals

Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

Optical conductivity of a quasi-one-dimensional system with fluctuating order [PDF]

open access: yesEurophys. Lett. 65, 68 (2004)., 2003
We describe a formally exact method to calculate the optical conductivity of a one-dimensional system with fluctuating order. For classical phase fluctuations we explicitly determine the optical conductivity by solving two coupled Fokker-Planck equations numerically.

Discussion of the technology and research in fuel injectors common rail system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Common rail is one of the most important components in a diesel and gasoline direct injection system. It features a high-pressure (100 bar) fuel rail feeding solenoid valves, as opposed to a low-pressure fuel pump feeding unit injectors. Third-generation
