COD Removal Prediction of DAF Unit Refinery Wastewater by Using Neuro- Fuzzy Systems (ANFIS) (Short Communication)

open access: yesJournal of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, 2013
In this study the Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) system in oil refinery was investigated for the treatment of refinery wastewater. In order to investigate sytem a labratory scale rig was built.

VLSI design of universal approximator neuro-fuzzy systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Neuro-fuzzy systems can theoretically solve any problem since they are universal approximators. Besides, they combine the advantages of the neuro and fuzzy paradigms.

Neuro-fuzzy knowledge processing in intelligent learning environments for improved student diagnosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In this paper, a neural network implementation for a fuzzy logic-based model of the diagnostic process is proposed as a means to achieve accurate student diagnosis and updates of the student model in Intelligent Learning Environments.

Vestibular Patient Journey: Insights From Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) Registry

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Vestibular symptoms impose a high burden of disability. Understanding real‐world diagnostic and treatment pathways can identify care gaps and guide interventions. We aimed to characterize symptom profiles, diagnostic trends, provider involvement, and treatment patterns in vestibular disorders.

Risk Mapping of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis via a Fuzzy C Means-based Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2014
Finding pathogenic factors and how they are spread in the environment has become a global demand, recently. Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (CL) created by Leishmania is a special parasitic disease which can be passed on to human through phlebotomus of vector ...

A neuro-fuzzy approach as medical diagnostic interface [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In contrast to the symbolic approach, neural networks seldom are designed to explain what they have learned. This is a major obstacle for its use in everyday life.

Clinical Practice Guideline for Evaluation and Management of Peripheral Nervous System Manifestations in Sjögren's Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.

Neuro-Fuzzy Systems Approaches

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Computational Intelligence and Intelligent Informatics, 1999
Two major approaches to neuro-fuzzy systems are distinguished in the paper. The previous one refers to fuzzy neural networks, which are neural networks with fuzzy signals, and/or fuzzy weights, as well as fuzzy transfer functions. The latter approach concerns neuro-fuzzy systems in the form of multilayer feed-forward networks, which differ from ...

Optimization of a fuzzy logic controller for MR dampers using an adaptive neuro-fuzzy procedure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Intelligent and adaptive control systems are naturally suitable to deal with dynamic uncertain systems with non-smooth nonlinearities; they constitute an important advantage over conventional control approaches.

Current Tracking Adaptive Control of Brushless DC Motors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
In this paper, the current tracking for Brushless Direct Current motors is approached considering uncertainty in the parameters of the motor's model. An adaptive control scheme to compensate electrical parameters uncertainty is proposed without requiring any knowledge of the mechanical parameters.
