A Wireless EEG System for Neurofeedback Training

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
This paper presents a mobile, easy-to-maintain wireless electroencephalograph (EEG) system designed for work with children in a school environment. This EEG data acquisition platform is a small-sized, battery-powered system with a high sampling rate that is scalable to different channel numbers.

Distinct Cortical Activation in Adolescents With Social Anxiety Disorder: An fNIRS Study

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
Using functional near‐infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) during a verbal fluency task, adolescents with social anxiety disorder (SAD) showed distinct hemodynamic responses in frontotemporal regions compared to healthy controls. The Δ β in CH4 was negatively associated with both social avoidance and social distress scores, while the Δ β in CH40 was ...

EEG source imaging assists decoding in a face recognition task

open access: yes, 2017
EEG based brain state decoding has numerous applications. State of the art decoding is based on processing of the multivariate sensor space signal, however evidence is mounting that EEG source reconstruction can assist decoding.

Global Trends in Research of Brain‐Computer Interfaces in Neuroscience From 2014 to 2023: A Bibliometric Analysis

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 4, April 2026.
This bibliometric study summarizes the global progress of brain‐computer interfaces (BCIs) research based on 2386 publications from 2014 to 2023. Our analysis identifies China as a leading contributor, with electroencephalography (EEG), rehabilitation, and motor cortex emerging as key research hotspots, providing important guidance for future BCI ...

Neurofeedback for Binge‐Eating Disorder: Neurophysiological Outcome Predictors and Rapid Response

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, Volume 59, Issue 4, Page 766-777, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Pioneer studies suggested the effectiveness of food‐specific electroencephalography (EEG) and real‐time functional near‐infrared spectroscopy (rtfNIRS) neurofeedback (NF) trainings in the treatment of binge‐eating disorder (BED). These trainings aim to improve participants' neurophysiological self‐regulation.

Watching Together, Yet Feeling Apart: Interpersonal Neural Synchronization as a Marker of Symptom Severity in Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder During Naturalistic Viewing

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 5, 1 April 2026.
Overview of the Experimental Paradigm, fNIRS Data Acquisition, and Analytical Framework. ABSTRACT Social interaction impairments in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have been widely attributed to deficits in empathy, including both cognitive and affective components. However, the underlying neural mechanisms remain incompletely understood. In the current

Integrating EEG and MEG signals to improve motor imagery classification in brain-computer interfaces

open access: yes, 2018
We propose a fusion approach that combines features from simultaneously recorded electroencephalographic (EEG) and magnetoencephalographic (MEG) signals to improve classification performances in motor imagery-based brain-computer interfaces (BCIs).

Predicting mental imagery based BCI performance from personality, cognitive profile and neurophysiological patterns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Mental-Imagery based Brain-Computer Interfaces (MI-BCIs) allow their users to send commands to a computer using their brain-activity alone (typically measured by ElectroEncephaloGraphy— EEG), which is processed while they perform specific mental tasks.

The Effects of Corrective Exercises and Respiratory Biofeedback on the Kyphosis Angle and Electrical Activity of Trapezius Muscles in Male Adolescents With Kyphosis: A Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Thoracic kyphosis is a prevalent postural abnormality among adolescents, which can impair musculoskeletal alignment and affect neuromuscular function. Despite the known benefits of corrective exercises, limited attention has been given to the role of respiratory biofeedback.

Motor Imagery Training With Neurofeedback From the Frontal Pole Facilitated Sensorimotor Cortical Activity and Improved Hand Dexterity

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2020
To develop a real-time neurofeedback system from the anterior prefrontal cortex (aPFC) using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) for motor rehabilitation, we investigated the effects of motor imagery training with neurofeedback from the aPFC on
