Neuronal surface and intracellular antibody testing in patients with long‐term epilepsy

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective We aimed to investigate the frequency of neuronal surface and intracellular antibodies in individuals with long‐term epilepsy and the associated clinical and laboratory characteristics. Methods We tested sera from 223 patients with epilepsy without signs of autoimmune encephalitis and 12 patients with epilepsy and a subacute onset of

Enhanced Blood‐Brain Barrier Penetrability of BACE1 SiRNA‐Loaded Prussian Blue Nanocomplexes for Alzheimer's Disease Synergy Therapy

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
BACE1 interfering RNA, metallothionein and ruthenium complexes ([Ru(bpy)2dppz]2+) were all loaded in prussian blue nanoparticles (PRM‐siRNA). PRM‐siRNA under near‐infrared light irradiation showed good photothermal effect and triggered instantaneous opening of blood‐brain barrier for enhanced drug delivery.

Exploring the Neuroprotective Role of Selenium: Implications and Perspectives for Central Nervous System Disorders

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
Selenium (Se) is a crucial element in selenoproteins, key biomolecules for physiological function in vivo. Central nervous system can express all 25 kinds of selenoproteins, which protect neurons by reducing oxidative stress and inflammatory response. Neuroprotection is being investigated through the biological study of Se.

Synergistic Effects of Ginsenoside Rb3 and Rc From Panax notoginseng Leaf on Alleviating Neuroinflammation via PACAP in Depression

open access: yesFood Frontiers, EarlyView.
EPL relieves depressive‐like behaviors by upregulating hippocampal PACAP via Rb3/Rc synergy, showing dual modulation of synaptic plasticity and neuroinflammation. ABSTRACT Panax notoginseng Leaf (PNL), an edible‐medicinal botanical resource, shows potential as functional ingredients for alleviating depression, owing to their unique saponin composition.
