Serum neuron-specific enolase in children's cancer [PDF]
To test its diagnostic potential and sensitivity in paediatric malignancy, serum NSE was measured at diagnosis in 191 children with solid tumours and 25 with acute leukaemia. In stages I + II, III + IV and IVs neuroblastoma median levels were 18.0, 91.0 and 24.0 ng ml-1 respectively.

The expression and significance of neuronal iconic proteins in podocytes.
Growing evidence suggests that there are many common cell biological features shared by neurons and podocytes; however, the mechanism of podocyte foot process formation remains unclear. Comparing the mechanisms of process formation between two cell types

Diagnostic roles of calretinin in hirschsprung disease: A comparison to neuron-specific enolase
Background/Aim: Diagnosis of Hirschsprung's disease (HD) can be hard and requires good experience, principally for pathologists who infrequently encounter the disease. However, diagnosis is not always possible with hematoxylin and eosin (H and E) because

Serum neuron specific enolase is increased in pediatric acute encephalitis syndrome [PDF]
PurposeThis study aimed to investigate whether serum neuron-specific enolase (NSE) was expressed in acute encephalitis syndrome (AES) that causes neuronal damage in children.MethodsThis prospective observational study was conducted in the pediatric ...
