Characterizing electroencephalogram dynamics during sedation withdrawal: Insights into cortical recovery following status epilepticus

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Characterize electroencephalogram (EEG) dynamics during propofol withdrawal in patients with generalized convulsive status epilepticus (GCSE) and explore their association with functional outcomes. Methods We conducted a retrospective cohort study of adult patients with GCSE who received continuous EEG monitoring and propofol ...

Understanding the Association Between Autistic Traits, Anorexia Nervosa Symptomatology and Weight Recovery in Female Adolescents: A Longitudinal Analysis

open access: yesEuropean Eating Disorders Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Anorexia nervosa (AN) and autism are distinct conditions, yet individuals with AN often exhibit elevated autistic traits. These traits are linked to complex clinical presentations, but their impact on AN remains unclear. This longitudinal study investigates associations between autistic traits, AN symptoms, and weight recovery in ...

Neurobiology and symbolic space: some issues about philosophy and neuroscience

open access: yes, 2012

Complement C3 mediates adolescent social isolation‐induced hippocampal synaptic deficits and sex‐specific emotional dysfunction

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Adolescent social isolation disrupts hippocampal function and exacerbates emotional symptoms, with sex‐specific patterns, as shown by human studies. In mice, social isolation decreased hippocampal synaptic density and calcium signaling, upregulated complement proteins, and activated complement‐mediated microglial synaptic phagocytosis.

Impact of Childhood Family Conflict on Adolescents' Startle Reactivity to Threat: The Moderating Role of Sensory Processing Sensitivity

open access: yesJournal of Adolescence, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Chronic familial conflict is known to hinder the development of adaptive stress responding in adolescents. However, there are differences in how individuals respond to familial conflict, which may be explained by the temperament trait of Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS).

Positive Constructs in Schema Therapy: A Scoping Review

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Psychology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Central to the schema therapy model is the development of early maladaptive schemas due to unmet emotional needs in childhood. Recently, focus has shifted towards positive constructs in schema therapy, including early adaptive schemas or positive schemas and positive schema modes, such as the “healthy adult” and “happy child.” This scoping ...
