The neurosurgical role in rehabilitation rehabilitation was studied. Over a 5-year period, 850 individuals were referred to a rehabilitation center after initial acute care. Surgery was indicated for 66 patients. There were 28 quadriplegic or paraplegic individuals with intractable spasticity.

Among fetal surgical procedures, neurosurgery stands out due to the number of cases and the possibility of developing new procedures that can be performed in the fetal period. To perform fetal neurosurgical procedures, there is a need for specialized centers that have experts in the diagnosis of fetal pathologies and a highly complex obstetrics service

Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, 1996
Because of the complex shape of many brain structures, the ideal brain probe would be highly flexible and give the neurosurgeon the ability to independently and precisely control movement of the probe tip. A magnetic surgery system has been developed that implements this concept.

SURGERY BEFORE BIRTH has been performed for lethal conditions for several years. The techniques that have been developed are being applied to nonlethal conditions such as meningomyelocele. It is possible that fetal surgery might find a place in the management of certain forms of hydrocephalus as well.
