Our work bridges the gap between skyrmion discovery and material design by demonstrating how atomic‐scale control of exchange interactions enables tunable skyrmion phase transitions in centrosymmetric magnetic metals. ABSTRACT Magnetic skyrmions are topologically protected spin states that hold promise for shaping the future of electronics.

Liquid metal nanoparticles create mechanically compliant polymer interfaces that facilitate reversible dipolar reorientation under electric fields, whereas rigid interfaces impose stronger local constraints. This soft–rigid interface comparison reveals local interfacial modulus as a key parameter for tuning electrocaloric entropy change in ...

ABSTRACT Magnetic 2‐dimensional (2D) van der Waals (vdW) materials have garnered tremendous attention. The vdW ferromagnet Fe5Ge1Te2 has a Curie temperature Tc of ≈ 270 K, which is tailorable by tuning the stoichiometry and the Fe deficiency to reach room temperature.

Europium–Hydrogen Bond Distances in Saline Metal Hydrides by Neutron Diffraction
Europium–hydrogen bond distances in saline metal hydrides have been refined from neutron powder diffraction data on the magnesium-based ternary deuterides EuMg2D6, EuMgD4, EU2MgD6, EU6Mg7D26 and EU2Mg3D10.

Ab initio structure determination from X-ray powder diffraction data [PDF]
Many important crystalline solids cannot be prepared in the form of single crystals of sufficient size and quality for single crystal X-ray diffraction studies, and in such cases it is essential that structural information can be extracted from powder ...

Atomic Scale Control of Thermal Conductivity in LaMnO3/SrMnO3 Superlattices
Interface‐dominated cross‐plane thermal transport in [(LaMnO3)m/(SrMnO3)n]10 superlattices can be controlled by the octahedral rotation/tilt angle φOOR of the MnO6 octahedra, which as well is controlled by the “m/n” ratio. ABSTRACT We report atomic scale structure and phonon thermal transport in (LaMnO3)m/(SrMnO3)n/SrTiO3(100) superlattices (LMO/SMO ...

Grain size, size-distribution and dislocation structure from diffraction peak profile analysis [PDF]
Diffraction peak profile analysis (or Line Profile Analysis, LPA) has recently been developed to such an extent that it can be applied as a powerful method for the characterization of microstructures of crystalline materials in terms of crystallite ...

Enhanced Spin‐Reorientation Transition and Polarization in DyFeO3 Thin Films
Epitaxial strain in antiferromagnetic orthoferrite thin films enhances known bulk properties into a parameter range that makes them more accessible for potential applications. We show that bulk polar properties move from 4 K towards room temperature and the magnetic field‐induced AFM to FM spin‐flip in the paramagnetic Dy lattice when applying small ...

A study of breakwater gap wave diffraction using close range photogrammetry and finite and infinite elements. [PDF]
In this thesis the diffraction of water waves passing through a gap in a breakwater is investigated experimentally, using close range photogrammetry, and numerically, using finite and infinite elements.
