A New Balancing Algorithm of Neutral-Point Potential in the Three-Level NPC Converters
2008 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2008The neutral-point (NP) potential of the three-level neutral-point-clamped converters is needed to maintain balanced. Zero-sequence voltage is the only freedom degree when carrier-based PWM is utilized. Appropriate zero-sequence voltage should be identified to control the NP potential.

Common mode voltage output is closely associated with switching states in three-phase three-wire neutral-point clamped inverter. Detailed analysis shows avoiding redundant states can effectively improve the common mode voltage, so this paper proposes a pulse width modulation (PWM) technique with zero redundant states to reduce the common mode voltage ...

Neutral point potential balance control strategy of three level inverter
2018 13th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2018The paper analyzes the principle of diode-clamped three-level inverter mainly from the control strategy of three-level midpoint potential balance. It expounds the reason and harm of the point potential imbalance in the three-level inverter and uses the adjustment of the complementary vector relative working time to control the mid — point potential ...

A neutral-point potential balancing algorithm for five-level ANPC converters
2011 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems, 2011Five-level active neutral-point-clamped (ANPC) converter is a newly emerging topology which can overcome the drawbacks of traditional neutral-point clamped (NPC) converters and flying-capacitor (FC) converters. Its dc-link is subdivided into two equal parts and the main problem is the neutral-point (NP) potential balancing.

Improved multilevel inverter with neutral point potential balancing for high power application
2015 International Conference on Innovations in Information, Embedded and Communication Systems (ICIIECS), 2015This paper presents low harmonic distortion and neutral-point potential (NPP) balancing in multilevel inverter using multicarrier pulse width modulation (PWM) for medium-voltage high-power industrial ac drives. This method is applicable for five-level inverters or higher.

Model Predictive Pulse Pattern Control with Integrated Balancing of the Neutral Point Potential
2019 21st European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications (EPE '19 ECCE Europe), 2019A neutral-point-clamped inverter operated with optimized pulse patterns is considered with an induction machine. For this setup, a control method is proposed that achieves high-bandwidth control of the electromagnetic torque and machine magnetization through stator flux trajectory tracking while balancing the inverter's neutral point (NP) potential ...

A new interleaved three-level Boost converter and neutral-point potential balancing
2013 2nd International Symposium on Instrumentation and Measurement, Sensor Network and Automation (IMSNA), 2013Due to a voltage imbalance of the divided capacitors in the output side of three-level Boost photovoltaic grid-connected inverter, a new topology of interleaved three-level Boost converters is presented. The proposed topology can balance the voltage of the divided capacitors through adjusting the duty cycle of the power switches.
