Life‐Like Ferrous Oxide Microspheres from Kombucha

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Kombucha bacterial cellulose, sodium alginate, and ferrous nitrate self‐assemble into membrane‐enclosed iron oxide microspheres. These microspheres bud daughter vesicles, sustain 24‐h electrochemical oscillations, and filter theta‐band signals.

A Critical Review on the Evolution of Chitosan‐Based Injectable Hydrogels in Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The graphical illustration depicts hydrogel formulation using chitosan and biocompatible cross‐linkers, major advantages, and incorporation of cells, osteoinductive factors, and therapeutic drugs. Following injection, pH‐responsive gelation enables controlled drug release, promotes cell recruitment and osteogenic differentiation, enhances extracellular

Laser‐Induced Local De‐Doping in Organic Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The polymer PBTTT‐C14 doped with the small molecule acceptor F4TCNQ is considered as a benchmark material system. Mask‐free, microscale patterning of the doping level via laser‐induced heating and sublimation of dopant molecules is shown. Controlling laser irradiance and swath spacing allows dopant level control with laser‐limited resolution, opening ...

Toward Perception‐Native Electronic Skin: Bio‐Inspired In‐/Near‐Sensor and Neuromorphic Computing for Humanoid Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Dense tactile streams from across the humanoid body converge on collide in a central wiring and data bottleneck. By relocating computation closer to and then into the skin itself, near‐ and in‐sensor architectures, together with neuromorphic computing, chart a path toward perception‐native electronic skin, in which the conversion of stimulus into ...

Dynamic Fluorescence Modulation via Light‐Driven Competitive Protonation

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐component molecular system demonstrates reversible, light‐driven fluorescence write–erase cycling and thermal imaging. Illumination of a merocyanine photoacid transfers a proton to a highly efficient fluorescent pyridinium dye, switching its emission color; thermal relaxation reverses the process in the dark.

Rigid Boron‐Fused Frameworks for Efficient Near‐Infrared Emission and Optical Gain Beyond 900 nm

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Multiple‐resonance (MR)‐derived boron‐fused frameworks were integrated into narrow‐gap, long‐range charge‐transfer emitters to reduce structural relaxation and electron‐vibrational coupling. This strategy significantly decreases nonradiative losses, leading to improved near‐infrared (NIR) luminescence efficiency and low‐threshold amplified spontaneous ...

Residual Tetramethylammonium Hydroxide Limits ZnO Nanoparticle‐Based Quantum Dot Light‐Emitting Diode Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Residual tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) from ZnO nanoparticle (NP) synthesis is uncovered as a hidden impurity that migrates into quantum dot emissive layers during thermal processing. The resulting exciton quenching reduces the efficiency of quantum dot light‐emitting diodes despite improved electron transport upon annealing.
