Pulsewidth Modulation of Neutral-Point-Clamped Indirect Matrix Converter

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2008
An indirect matrix converter is an alternative "all-semiconductor" energy processor proposed recently for converting an ac source with fixed magnitude and frequency to a variable voltage and frequency supply that can meet the requirements of a particular industry application.

Predictive Control of Neutral-Point Clamped indirect matrix converter

2017 Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE), 2017
In this paper, a Neutral-Point Clamped (NPC) based indirect matrix converter is proposed in order to decrease the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of the input and load currents. This converter produces three-level output voltages which are suitable for high-power medium-voltage applications.

Three-Level Neutral Point Clamped ZVS-PWM Converter

2018
This chapter studies the Three Level, Zero Voltage Switching, Pulse-Width-Modulated (TL-ZVS-PWM) dc–dc converter, which main attribute is that the maximum voltage across the switches is half of the input voltage. After the introduction of the power converter topology, qualitative analysis and description of operation, along with topological states for ...

The New High-Efficiency Hybrid Neutral-Point-Clamped Converter

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2013
This paper introduces a novel three-level voltage-source converter (VSC) as an alternative to known three-level topologies, including the conventional neutral-point-clamped converter (NPCC), many T-type VSCs, and active NPCC. It is shown that, operating in the low converter dc-link voltage range, this new solution not only can achieve higher efficiency

DC Component Self-Balancing Analysis of Neutral-Point in Neutral-Point-Clamped Three-Level Converters

2020 IEEE 9th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC2020-ECCE Asia), 2020
Neutral-point-clamped three-level converter is widely used in high-power, medium-voltage industrial applications. However, NP potential fluctuation is an inherent problem and draws much attention, so that various control schemes have been proposed, considering amplitude of low-frequency NP potential oscillations, switching losses, output voltage ...

Universal voltage clamping circuit for T-type neutral-point-clamped (TNPC) converters

2014 International Power Electronics and Application Conference and Exposition, 2014
In this paper, a universal voltage clamping circuit for the T-type neutral-point-clamped (TNPC) converter is introduced. It is shown that, for any TNPC implementation, the proposed voltage clamping circuit can well suppress all voltage spikes of power devices at the switching transients. Therefore, the devices can operate in a much safer region.

Equivalent neutral point voltage control strategies in neutral-point diode-clamped three-level converter

2009 IEEE 6th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference, 2009
This paper shows the equivalent of different strategies in neutral point voltage control under different modulation methods --- CBPWM and SVPWM. With this concept we can go from one strategy in CBPWM to another in SVPWM freely, and also newly found strategies that will be used not only in CBPWM but also in SVPWM.

Elimination of neutral point potential oscillations in the four pole neutral point clamped converter

2017 IEEE 3rd International Future Energy Electronics Conference and ECCE Asia (IFEEC 2017 - ECCE Asia), 2017
This paper investigates the effect of neutral point potential oscillation on four pole neutral point clamped converter. The detailed derivation indicates such oscillation is closely associated with neutral point current, so this paper presents a modulation technique to effectively eliminate this neutral point current. Besides, an offset injected method

A novel neutral point potential control for the three-level neutral-point-clamped converter

2016 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2016
Three-level neutral-point-clamped (NPC) converters/inverters have become a popular topology for not only medium-voltage (1k–33k) but also low-voltage level industrial application because of its reduced transistor block voltage and lower output current distortion.

Analysis of Neutral-Point Voltage Balancing in Three-Ports Active Neutral-Point-Clamped Converter

2019 IEEE 15th Brazilian Power Electronics Conference and 5th IEEE Southern Power Electronics Conference (COBEP/SPEC), 2019
This paper investigates the neutral-point (NP) voltage balancing problem from the perspective of the space vector modulation for different operating conditions of the recently proposed Three-ports Active Neutral-Point-Clamped (ANPC-3P) topology, which can integrate one energy storage system per inverter leg.
