Neutral point balancing technique for 3-level neutral point clamped converter with servo system

2017 IEEE 58th International Scientific Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering of Riga Technical University (RTUCON), 2017
Neutral point voltage drift compensation technique in 3-level NPC multilevel converter and servo system is described in the paper. Analytical expressions are obtained for power subsystem elements parameters of servo drive system. Simulation of servo system, based on PMSM motor with 3-level NPC converter is considered.

PWM Method of a Three-Level Neutral-Point-Clamped Converter under Neutral Point Imbalance Condition

APEC 07 - Twenty-Second Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2007
Imbalance of the neutral-point potential in three-level neutral-point-clamped converter may appear in some operating conditions. This paper analyzes the voltage distortion caused by the imbalance of the neutral point potential in a three-level neutral-point-clamped converter, and also describes the PWM method to generate the low-frequency harmonics ...

Control of a four-level active neutral point clamped converter with neutral point voltage balance

2016 IEEE 8th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC-ECCE Asia), 2016
In this paper, a carrier-based modulation method with optimal zero-sequence signal injection has been devised to modulate the converter and regulate the DC-link neutral points' voltages of a four-level active neutral point clamped (ANPC) converter. With the proposed control strategy, the two neutral points' voltages can be well controlled with a back ...

Neutral point voltage control of neutral point clamped converters

The most widely used Medium Voltage multilevel converter is the 3-level AC/DC Neutral-Point Clamped (NPC) converter. It provides: a) twice the voltage rating, b) a reduction in the volumetric size and weight over the traditional 2-level converter. However, these benefits are lost when the Neutral Point (NP) drifts away from its ideal value (0 V).The ...

A New Hybrid Multilevel Nested Neutral Point Clamped (NNPC) Converter

2018 IEEE Canadian Conference on Electrical & Computer Engineering (CCECE), 2018
This paper presents a new hybrid multilevel inverter topology which combines a four-level nested neutral point clamped (NNPC) converter with a half-bridge inverter. The converter has less components compared to that of other multilevel converters and features a modular structure for cascading multiple H-bridges to produce higher voltage levels.

Pulse-Width-Modulation of Neutral-Point-Clamped Sparse Matrix Converter

2007 IEEE Industry Applications Annual Meeting, 2007
Sparse matrix converter is an alternative "all- semiconductor" energy processor proposed recently for converting an ac source with fixed magnitude and frequency to a variable voltage and frequency supply that can meet the requirements of a particular industry application. In principle, sparse matrix converter is constructed by connecting a front-end bi-
