Neutral polar wind

Journal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 2004
The classical polar wind is an ambipolar outflow of ions from high latitudes along open geomagnetic field lines. The polar wind consists of light thermal ions (H+, He+) and energetic light and heavy ions (H+, He+, O+). The characteristics of these ions have been studied quite extensively since the 1960s.

Global neutral polar wind model

Journal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 2005
The neutral polar wind shows a highly dynamic structure that depends on the characteristics of convection and precipitation. The ions in the polar wind are highly dependent on convection electric fields at high latitudes, and their outflow dynamics are modified by the heat input of precipitating electrons in the auroral zone.

Neutral earthing in off-shore wind farm grids [PDF]

open access: possible2009 IEEE Bucharest PowerTech, 2009
The maintenance of offshore wind farms is more complicated than those onshore. The effort associated with cable repairs in terms of time and cost is much larger compared to I similar tasks in conventional distribution grids. Current and voltage stress of the grid following the most common single phase to ground fault primarily affected by the type of ...

Non-neutral or Diabatic Wind Profile

2021
In non-neutral stability conditions, adjustment—termed Monin-Obukhov Similarity Theory—must be made to the logarithmic wind profile to account for the increased or decreased tendency for rising motion, because the turbulent eddies are anisotropic rather than isotropic.
