The emergence of neutrino astronomy
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2013This paper is a brief historical review of the quest to find neutrinos of extraterrestrial origin. In the context of the Victor Hess centenary, it is interesting to consider how the development of detectors for neutrinos from space relates to developments in cosmic-ray and particle physics over the same time span.

A broad overview of the current status of experimental neutrino astronomy is presented. Particular emphasis is given to the major recent developments that have occurred during the last few years. It is concluded that these developments and the next generation of experiments currently being installed signifies the coming of age of neutrino astronomy.

Multimessenger Astronomy and Neutrinos
Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 2013Abstract Neutrinos play a very important role in multimessenger astronomy. In this talk, I start with a simple argument on how bright the Universe is in both photons and neutrinos. It is remarkable that one can easily show that the neutrinos, especially those emitted from past core-collapse supernovae, form the brightest radiation component in the ...

Ultra High Energy, UHE, Neutrino Astronomy should be soon tested on Earth. At present High Energy Neutrino Astronomy is searched by AMANDA, ANTARES underground detectors looking for its muons secondary tracks. We suggest a complementary higher energy Tau Neutrino Astronomy based on Horizontal and Upward Tau Air-Showers observed by high mountain ...

NEUTRINO ASTRONOMY: BREAKING THE WALL
Particle Physics at the Year of Centenary of Bruno Pontecorvo, 2015This talk describes the recent results in high energy neutrino astronomy. After 40 years of work in the deep waters of lakes and oceans and in deep glacial ice at the South Pole, we now witness a breakthrough: the window to the high-energy neutrino sky is being opened.
