Fast neutrino decay and solar neutrino detectors

open access: yesZeitschrift für Physik C Particles and Fields, 1992
The neutrino decay solution of the solar neutrino problem is revisited in the context of majoron models. It is shown that for a definite range of parameters this scenario reconciles both the Homestake and the Kamiokande data. The prediction for Gallium detectors is also given.

NuRadioMC: simulating the radio emission of neutrinos from interaction to detector

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
NuRadioMC is a Monte Carlo framework designed to simulate ultra-high energy neutrino detectors that rely on the radio detection method. This method exploits the radio emission generated in the electromagnetic component of a particle shower following a ...

Neutrino factory in stages: Low energy, high energy, off-axis

open access: yes, 2010
We discuss neutrino oscillation physics with a neutrino factory in stages, including the possibility of upgrading the muon energy within the same program. We point out that a detector designed for the low energy neutrino factory may be used off-axis in a

A global analysis strategy to resolve neutrino NSI degeneracies with scattering and oscillation data

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
Neutrino non-standard interactions (NSI) with the first generation of standard model fermions can span a parameter space of large dimension and exhibit degeneracies that cannot be broken by a single class of experiment.

gSeaGen: A GENIE-based code for neutrino telescopes

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
The gSeaGen code is a GENIE based application to generate neutrino-induced events in an underwater neutrino detector. The gSeaGen code is able to generate events induced by all neutrino flavours, taking into account topological differences between track ...

Epidemiology and Genetics of Rheumatic Diseases Suggest a Constant Rate of DNA Damage as Underlying Cause

open access: yesImmunology, Volume 177, Issue 4, Page 736-748, April 2026.
A constant rate of DNA damage that is not perfectly repaired will cause a constant rate of DNA mutations. The chance of mutation will increase if DNA is prone to damage, such as occurs in somatic hypermutation (SHM) hotspots and GC‐rich DNA. Thus, if one mutation‐prone DNA site drives disease, the age of onset of disease and degree of penetrance should

Tracking Performance of the Scintillating Fiber Detector in the K2K Experiment

open access: yes, 2002
The K2K long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiment uses a Scintillating Fiber Detector (SciFi) to reconstruct charged particles produced in neutrino interactions in the near detector.

Toward Large Nonradiating Qubits: When Quantum Engineering Meets Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2026.
Nonradiating superconducting qubits suppress radiative losses through photonic‐inspired mechanisms such as anapole states and bound states in the continuum (BICs). This review surveys theoretical foundations and recent implementations of large, wavelength‐scale qubits that confine electromagnetic energy while maintaining coherence.

A New Method for Probabilistic Spatiotemporal Forecasts of Solar Soft X‐Ray “S‐Class” (>X10) Superflares

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Solar superflares of S‐class (>X10 in soft X‐rays) pose extreme space weather hazards, yet their prediction remains a fundamental challenge owing to their rapid and transient natures and the limitations of conventional event‐based forecasts. We introduce for the first time, a probabilistic spatiotemporal framework designed to identify extended
