Abstract We review recent topics in the phenomenology of three and four neutrino mixing, with emphasis on the status of solar ν e oscillations after the first Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO) measurements, and on the status of atmospheric ν μ oscillations after the recent indications from the KEK-to-Kamioka (K2K) experiment.

Mixing of a heavy neutrino with the electron neutrino
Physical Review D, 1985We show that recent monojet searches in electron-positron annihilation experiments can be used to extend significantly the limits on the mixing of a massive fourth-generation neutrino with the electron neutrino. When combined with other limits from hadron decays and secondary-vertex searches in hadron and electron-positron annihilation experiments ...

Neutrinos and Implications for Physics Beyond the Standard Model, 2003
Encouraged by the phenomenological success of the tri-bimaximal hypothesis, we postulate that the neutrino mass matrix in the lepton flavour basis is an S3 group matrix in the natural representation of S3. This immediately requires one neutrino to be trimaximally mixed, as suggested by the solar neutrino data.

The solar neutrino problem: Mixing of neutrinos and mixing in the sun
Progress in Particle and Nuclear Physics, 1998I review the current status of the solar neutrino problem, including the exciting possibility of matter enhanced neutrino oscillations. Neutrino flux measurements, independent of questions of solar dynamics, appear to leave only one competing candidate astrophysical solution, at least in the case of steady-state solar models.

The mechanism of the generation of the neutrino mass term at present is unknown. We also do not know if neutrinos with definite masses are Dirac or Majorana particles. However, as we will see later, it was established by all existing experimental data that neutrino mixing takes place.
