Neutron detection and neutron dosimetry
Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2004A review is presented on the research and development of inorganic scintillators for position-sensitive thermal neutron detectors to be used at new spallation neutron sources. Furthermore some recent developments in the field of fast-neutron dosimetry will be discussed.

Reviews of Modern Physics, 1967
The present status of the problem of charge dependence is discussed. The information about the neutron-neutron interaction derived from the two-neutron system, three-nucleon systems, final-state interactions in multiparticle reactions, and peripheral processes is critically evaluated.

Neutron-Neutron Scattering Length
Physical Review, 1961The final-state interaction of the two neutrons from the reaction pi / sup -/ + d yields 2n + gamma has a pronounced and distinctive effect on tbe momentum spectrum of the outgoing particles. In particular, the neutron spectrum is sharply peaked in the neighborhood of 2 Mev, with a shape that is quite sensitive to the strength of the nn interaction. In

Calculations of neutron spectra after neutron–neutron scattering
Journal of Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physics, 2004A direct neutron–neutron scattering length, ann, measurement with the goal of 3% accuracy (0.5 fm) is under preparation at the aperiodic pulsed reactor YAGUAR. A direct measurement of ann will not only help resolve conflicting results of ann by indirect means, but also in comparison to the proton–proton scattering length, app, shed light on the charge ...

Neutron radiography using neutron imaging plate
Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2010The aims of this research are to study properties of a neutron imaging plate (NIP) and to test it for use in nondestructive testing (NDT) of materials. The experiments were carried out by using a BAS-ND 2040 Fuji NIP and a neutron beam from the Thai Research Reactor TRR-1/M1.

Neutrons for rafts, rafts for neutrons
The European Physical Journal E, 2013The determination of the structure of membrane rafts is a challenging issue in biology. The selection of membrane components both in the longitudinal and transverse directions plays a major role as it determines the creation of stable or tunable platforms that host interactions with components of the outer environment.

ABSTRACTIn recent years considerable progress has been made in the application of neutron sources to the treatment of cancer. The development of this field is outlined, and a review is given of the current status of published clinical experience. A variety of sources can be used for neutron therapy and their relative merits are discussed. Proposals for

Neutron Spin-Neutron Orbit Interaction with Slow Neutrons
Physical Review Letters, 1963Measurements were made of the polarization ratio of the scattered intensities for the two neutron spin states for two reflections (110) and (220) for positive angles and for the reflection (110) at negative angles. Very high neutron polarization was available and the intensity was studied as the magnetic field on the crystal was reduced to zero so as ...
