AbstractThe physical quantity of neutron flux can be measured indirectly through interaction signals between the neutron and the material used as a neutron detector, as discussed in Chap. 5. To determine neutron flux, the measured reaction rate obtained in the experiments should be used. Acknowledging that it is not easy to determine neutron flux using

Fast Neutron Flux in the University of Maryland Reactor [PDF]
The fast neutron flux distribution in the experimental facilities of the University of Maryland Reactor (UMR) was studied by means of neutron activation threshold foils with the reactor at a power level of 10 kw. The foils used were sulfur, magnesium,

How Proton Incorporation Reshapes Lattice Dynamics In BaSnO3‐Type Proton Conductors
Yttrium‐doped BaSnO3 exhibits isotope‐dependent changes in its low‐energy vibrational density of states upon hydration. Comparison of dry, H2O‐, and D2O‐treated samples re‐veals mass‐dependent phonon renormalization linked to proton dynamics near oxygen va‐cancies, providing experimental insight into hydrogen‐coupled lattice excitations in proton ...

Modulating the Neutron Flux from a Mirror Neutron Source [PDF]
A 14-MeV neutron source based on a Gas-Dynamic Trap will provide a high flux of 14 MeV neutrons for fusion materials and sub-component testing. In addition to its main goal, the source has potential applications in condensed matter physics and biophysics.

A universal metal pre‐fixation (MPF) strategy directs the precise crystallization of diverse metal‐organic frameworks (Co‐MOF, ZIF‐8, Fe‐MOF, UIO‐66) on covalent organic framework (PY‐COF) scaffolds. The resulting hierarchical hybrids exhibit tunable porosity, structural defective and dimensional, as well as enhanced performance in CH4/C2H6/C3H8 ...

Optimization of Neutron Flux Distribution
A method of optimizing neutron flux distribution to obtain maximum power generation from a given core is presented. Constraining conditions governing maximum heat flux and control rod absorption are taken into consideration. It is shown that the problem is reduced to that of optimal control.

ABSTRACT Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) remains largely incurable due to the blood‐brain barrier (BBB) and immunosuppressive microenvironment. While boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) selectively eradicates tumor cells via 10B(n, α)‐7Li reactions, its clinical potential in GBM is unrealized because of the suboptimal pharmacokinetics of conventional ...
