Fast Neutron Radiation Therapy
Annual Review of Biophysics and Bioengineering, 1982Cancer therapy continues to advance on two fronts concerned respecĀ tively with ablation of local and regional disease by surgery or radiation and control of distant spread or dissemination by immunotherapy and chemotherapy. Local control of nonresectable cancer by irradiation freĀ quently fails (in about one-third of patients referred) owing to a ...

Fast neutron radiation therapy
Critical Reviews in Oncology/Hematology, 1992Fast neutron radiation therapy was first used as a cancer treatment tool by Robert Stone at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory in 1938 [l]. Using the Berkeley cyclotron, Dr. Stone treated a series of patients with advanced malignancies in various locations to high doses.

Physics Today, 1963
A 70-inch cyclotron is now under construction at the US Naval Radiological Defense Laboratory at Hunters Point, Calif. Known as the Neutron Radiation Facility, the machine will be used mainly in neutron-damage studies, but proton and deuteron experiments will also be possible. Construction will cost $3 million.

Neutron spectrometry for radiation protection
Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2004The various instruments used for neutron spectrometry can be divided into four categories. Within each of these categories, the underlying measurement principle for all devices is essentially the same. The applications of the instruments within each group to spectrometry for radiation protection are reviewed.

Pocket dual Neutron/Gamma radiation detector
2003 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium. Conference Record (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37515), 2003A pocket radiation detection system has been developed at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory for homeland security applications. It can detect both neutrons and gamma rays instantaneously. This sensor has been designed with an emphasis on compactness, recognizing the widespread need for a radiation detection instrument that ...
