Quasi Elastic Neutron Scattering model library [PDF]
This paper reports on the development of a collection of dynamical models of one-dimensional peak profile functions used to fit dynamic structure factors S (Q, ħω) of Quasi Elastic Neutron Scattering (QENS) data.

Modelling of The New Engineering Diffractometer eMAP at ISIS Target Station 2 [PDF]
eMAP is a new proposed high flux medium-resolution time-of-flight engineering diffractometer that will be built at ISIS Target Station 2. Monte Carlo simulations were performed to optimise the neutron guide to maximise brilliance transfer.

SHERPA: A Spectrometer with High Energy Resolution and Polarisation Analysis [PDF]
SHERPA is a proposed quasielastic neutron spectrometer with polarisation analysis, intended to replace the ageing Iris instrument at the ISIS neutron and muon source. In this paper we present a concept of the instrument along with Monte-Carlo simulations

Discovery of new neutron-moderating materials at ISIS Neutron and Muon Source [PDF]
In this paper, the possibility of performing a comprehensive neutronic characterization of new materials for neutron moderation at the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source using two of its instruments, VESUVIO and TOSCA, will be discussed.

Imaging low-energy positron beams in real-time with unprecedented resolution
Particle beams focused to micrometer-sized spots play a crucial role in forefront research using low-energy positrons. Their expedient and wide application, however, requires highly-resolved, fast beam diagnostics. We have developed two different methods

A femtosecond neutron source [PDF]
The possibility to use the ultrashort ion bunches produced by circularly polarized laser pulses to drive a source of fusion neutrons with sub-optical cycle duration is discussed. A two-side irradiation of a thin foil deuterated target produces two countermoving ion bunches, whose collision leads to an ultrashort neutron burst.
