Zero Thermal Expansion and Local Structure in KxMnxFe2‐xMo3O12‐Based Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Local structure engineering via ion insertion drives local structural transformation from low‐symmetry P21/a to high‐symmetry R‐3c, enhancing structural flexibility and realizing a transition from positive thermal expansion to wide‐temperature‐range zero thermal expansion in KxMnxFe2‐xMo3O12‐based materials.

Rational Design of Weakly‐Solvating Molecules for Salt‐In‐Pre‐Ionic‐Liquid Electrolytes for Li Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The weakly‐solvating TFMSPyr electrolyte tailors the Li+ solvation structure by suppressing solvent coordination and promoting anion‐dominated solvation. This unique solvation environment induces preferential anion decomposition at electrode interfaces, forming robust inorganic rich S/CEI.

Anomalous X-ray diffraction studies of ion transport in K+ channels

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
The number of K+ occupied binding sites in the selectivity filter of potassium ion channels is still under debate. Here, the authors collect diffraction data on the K+ selective NaK channel NaK2K at a wavelength of 3.35 Å, close to the K absorption edge,

Concurrent Terahertz Spin Excitations and Phase Shift Control in Fe4Nb2O9: A Material for Synergizing Computation and Communication Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional terahertz (THz) platform is demonstrated, in a model material Fe4Nb2O9, exhibiting a large intrinsic THz phase shift alongside distinct THz magnon excitations in its antiferromagnetic phase. This coexistence of phase modulation and spin dynamics offers a promising pathway toward integrated THz communication and magnonic computation ...

A neutron source with 1014 DT neutron yield

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics E, 2019
The developed spherical plasma focus model is used in this study to investigate the optimum neutron yield in terms of the gas pressure, cathode radius and external inductance. The optimum values for these parameters are found separately. Then, the charging voltage is varied from 25[Formula: see text]kV to 35[Formula: see text]kV with 1[Formula: see ...
