Determination of neutron temperature in irradiation channels of reactor [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2010
The neutron temperature is a characteristic parameter in irradiation channels of reactor. For nuclides which have resonances in the thermal neutron energy range, their Westcott g-factors are different from unity. The values of g-factors and cross-sections of (n, γ) reaction of these nuclides are temperature dependence.

Decoupling of a Neutron Interferometer from Temperature Gradients [PDF]

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments, 2016
Neutron interferometry enables precision measurements that are typically operated within elaborate, multi-layered facilities which provide substantial shielding from environmental noise.

Emission of neutrino-antineutrino pairs by hadronic bremsstrahlung processes

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
We review our recent calculations of neutrino-antineutrino pair production from bremsstrahlung processes in hadronic collisions at temperature and densities relevant for core-collapse supernovae. We focus on neutron-neutron and neutron-α collisions.

Ethane as a Neutron Moderator at Cryogenic Temperatures [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
The study’s objective is to examine the neutron temperature response, using liquid and solid ethane at various cryogenic temperatures to evaluate the effectiveness of ethane as a cold neutron moderator in compact moderator systems.

Determining the relaxation time from a temperature-dependent scan of the neutron spin-echo signal amplitude [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2022
Temperature-dependent scans of the neutron scattering intensity are commonly employed in high energy-resolution quasielastic measurements. Besides serving as a useful diagnostic tool for identifying the temperature range that could give rise to a ...

Cooling of neutron stars with quark-hadron continuity [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2022
Neutron stars are high-density objects formed by the gravitational collapse of massive stars, and the whole star can be likened to a giant nucleus. The interior of a neutron star is considered to contain exotic particles and states which do not appear in

Simulation of neutron transmission performance of metallic spherical shell under temperature dependent neutron cross section [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
To study the effect of temperature dependent neutron cross section on the neutron transmission performance of typical metallic spherical shells, this paper generated the temperature dependent neutron cross section data by using NJOY program, and ...

Measurement of temperature-dependent thermal neutron spectrum in CaH2 moderator material for space reactor [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
In order to accurately design a CaH2 moderated small high-temperature reactor, it is necessary to experimentally confirm the temperature-dependent thermal neutron spectrum in the CaH2 moderator material.

Gravitational wave signatures of phase transition from hadronic to quark matter in isolated neutron stars and binaries [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2022
The fundamental constituent of matter at high temperature and density has intrigued physicists for quite some time. Recent results from heavy-ion colliders have enriched the Quantum Chromodynamics phase diagram at high temperatures and low baryon density.
