Control of Ferromagnetism of Vanadium Oxide Thin Films by Oxidation States
The nonstoichiometric VOx exhibits a distinct ferromagnetic hysteresis loop and demonstrates a high magnetic susceptibility (χ=dMdH$ = \frac{{dM}}{{dH}}\;$∼10). Micromagnetic simulations show the results of the “partial volume fraction ferromagnetic phase model” for VOx/Co/Pt structure.

We report a neutron and Raman scattering study of a single-crystal of La(2)CuO(4.05) prepared by high temperature electrochemical oxidation. Elastic neutron scattering measurements show the presence of two phases, corresponding to the two edges of the ...

Temperature Coefficient of Neutron Multiplication Factor [PDF]
A method for calculating the temperature coefficient of the neutron multiplication factor in an infinite homogeneous medium is investigated for the purpose of discussion of the temperature coefficient for thermal reactors. Two kinds of expression for the temperature coefficient of the neutron multiplication factor are derived and given in terms of ...

Determination of neutron temperature in irradiation channels of reactor [PDF]
The neutron temperature is a characteristic parameter in irradiation channels of reactor. For nuclides which have resonances in the thermal neutron energy range, their Westcott g-factors are different from unity. The values of g-factors and cross-sections of (n, γ) reaction of these nuclides are temperature dependence.

This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

High‐Entropy Magnetism of Murunskite
The study of murunskite (K2FeCu3S4) reveals that its magnetic and orbital order emerges in a simple I4/mmm crystal structure with complete disorder in the transition metal positions. Mixed‐valence Fe ions randomly occupy 1/4 of the tetrahedral sites, with the remaining 3/4 being filled by non‐magnetic Cu+ ions.

Experimental and Theoretical Confirmation of Covalent Bonding in α‐Pu
From a combination of Reverse Monte Carlo dynamic rigid body fitting to the pair distribution functional and novel density functional approaches, the existence of covalent bonding is confirmed in α‐plutonium alongside other bonding types (i.e. mixed bonding schemes).

Precise study of the resonance at Q0=(1,0,0) in URu2Si2
New inelastic neutron scattering experiments have been performed on URu2Si2 with special focus on the response at Q0=(1,0,0), which is a clear signature of the hidden order (HO) phase of the compound.

Neutron activations for lower s-process temperatures
The slow neutron capture process produces heavy elements in different stellar sites at different temperatures. Neutron capture cross sections for stellar temperatures between kBT = 5 keV and kBT = 100 keV are crucial for a quantitative understanding of the s-process abundance distribution.
