Simultaneous Formation of Arsenic Nitride Chalcogenides As3NS3 and As3NSe3 and Arsenic–Chalcogen Zintl Anions by Ammonothermal Reactions

Mn, As, and S or Se react in liquid NH3 to the Zintl ions (As4S6)2– and (As2Se6)2–. Simultaneously, the arsenic nitride chalcogenides As3NS3 and As3NSe3 are formed. Their isotypic structures contain planar trigonal NAs3 groups connected via chalcogen bridges to 1D‐strands forming channels that can host solvent molecules.

High‐throughput X‐ray total scattering measurement system at BL04B2 of SPring‐8

A high‐throughput X‐ray total scattering system was newly installed in BL04B2, achieving more than ten times faster acquisition times than those of the conventional setup.X‐ray total scattering is widely used for analyzing pair distribution functions (PDFs) to elucidate the local structure of materials.

Primitive icosahedral quasicrystals in ZnMgLi(Dy, Ho, Er, Tm) systems

The study introduces new primitive icosahedral quasicrystals in Zn–Mg–Li–(Dy, Ho, Er, Tm) systems.
