Invariant Imbedding and Neutron Transport Theory III-Neutron-Neutron Collision Processes [PDF]

open access: yesIndiana University Mathematics Journal, 1959
Abstract : The effects on criticality of neutron-neutron collisions involving annihilation are investigated for one-dimensional, single and multi-group cases. The analytic treatment shows that regardless of the magnitude of the cross section for collision between moving neutrons, there is no critical length (mass).

Monte Carlo Simulation of NE213 Response to 241Am-Be Neutrons Using the PTRAC Card of the MCNPX Code and the Light Transport Code PHOTRACK [PDF]

open access: yesمجله علوم و فنون هسته‌ای, 2013
The response of an NE213 scintillator to Am-Be neutrons, in which the neutron and neutron-induced charged particles transports have been undertaken, has been simulated with the use of MCNPX’ PTRAC card whilst the scintillation light transport has been ...

Verification and Analysis of the Problem-Dependent Multigroup Macroscopic Cross-Sections for Shielding Calculations

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
Multigroup constants are the foundation of neutron and photon transport problems, and the accuracy of multigroup cross-sections has a significant impact on shielding calculation.

Initial condition in the theory of neutron transport [PDF]

open access: yes, 1968
summary:The transport equation for the neutron density in an infinite absorbing and non-multiplying medium is discussed provided the initial distribution is known.

Cosmic-ray neutron transport at a forest field site: the sensitivity to various environmental conditions with focus on biomass and canopy interception [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2017
Cosmic-ray neutron intensity is inversely correlated to all hydrogen present in the upper decimeters of the subsurface and the first few hectometers of the atmosphere above the ground surface.

Calculation of eigenvalues for neutron transport equation using Henyey-Greenstein phase function in slab geometry

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
Eigenvalues are obtained for one-dimensional steady-state neutron transport equation in slab geometry using Henyey-Greenstein (HG) phase function. Firstly, HG phase function is inserted into neutron transport equation then eigenvalues are calculated for ...

Multi-species Neutron Transport Equation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Physics, 2019
The Neutron Transport Equation (NTE) describes the flux of neutrons through inhomogeneous fissile medium. Whilst well treated in the nuclear physics literature (cf. [9, 27]), the NTE has had a somewhat scattered treatment in mathematical literature with a variety of different approaches (cf. [8, 25]).

Measurements of neutrons produced by high-energy muons at the Boulby Underground Laboratory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We present the first measurements of the muon-induced neutron flux at the Boulby Underground Laboratory. The experiment was carried out with an 0.73 tonne liquid scintillator that also served as an anticoincidence system for the ZEPLIN-II direct dark ...
