Linear stochastic neutron transport theory

Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. A. Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1978
A new and direct derivation of the Bell-Pál fundamental equation for (low power) neutron stochastic behaviour in the Boltzmann continuum model is given. The development includes correlation of particle emission direction in induced and spontaneous fission.

Polynomial Approximations in Neutron Transport Theory

Nuclear Science and Engineering, 1959
The Milne problem, with absorption, of neutron transport theory is solved by expanding the angular distribution in Tchebycheff polynomials, rather than the more conventional Legendre polynomials.

Stochastic Neutron Transport Theory: Neutron Counting Statistics in Nuclear Assemblies

Nuclear Science and Engineering, 1987
The methodology of Pal and Bell has been used to derive a master equation for the probability generating function, which governs the detector counting statistics in zero power reactors. The resulting formalism has led to rigorous derivations of the Feynman Y function and the covariance function, which include spatial and spectral corrections and which ...

Spectral Theory for Neutron Transport

2014
These notes resume a lecture given in the Cimpa School “Evolutionary equations with applications in natural sciences” held in South Africa (Muizenberg, July 22–August 2, 2013). However, the oral style of the lecture has been changed and the bibliography augmented.
