Compression‐Induced Amorphization of ZIF‐62 Leading to Formation of Porous Glass: Overcoming the Limitations of Current Methods

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
Nonhydrostatic compression in steps is applied to transform crystalline zeolitic imidazolate framework‐62 into glass at room temperature. This method overcomes the limitations of existing approaches. This research reveals the mechanism of this phase transformation, including modifications in porosity, using various techniques, particularly positron ...

Modeling Thermodynamic Behavior of Ultrathin Films: Comparison with Experiments

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
A 3D thermodynamic model in adapted to 2D ultrathin polymer films. Compression isotherms of various polymers are fitted without adjustable parameters. The model predicts polymer film thickness agrees with experiments. This work aims to model the thermodynamic behavior of ultrathin polymer films.

Evidence for Anion‐Anion Interaction in Amino Acid Ionic Liquids Probed by Far‐Infrared Spectroscopy

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
Spectroscopic evidence for doubly hydrogen bonded anionic dimers in amino acid ionic liquids is provided. The torsional motion of the amine groups is characteristic for cation‐anion and anion‐anion interaction as observed in far‐infrared spectra. Herein, it is shown that far‐infrared spectroscopy is a sensitive probe for detecting not only cation‐anion

Archaeometric Analyses of Medieval Pottery From the Lower Danube Region, Romania

open access: yesChemPlusChem, Accepted Article.
This paper discusses the pottery manufacturing in the Lower Danube region during the Early Medieval period. Optical Microscopy (OM), Particle Induced X‐ray Emission (PIXE) and X‐ray Diffraction (XRD) were performed on thirty‐two ceramic shards unearthed at Pantelimonu de Sus, Romania, dated to the 8th‐10th c. AD. The petrographic observations showed an
