Modeling Thermodynamic Behavior of Ultrathin Films: Comparison with Experiments

A 3D thermodynamic model in adapted to 2D ultrathin polymer films. Compression isotherms of various polymers are fitted without adjustable parameters. The model predicts polymer film thickness agrees with experiments. This work aims to model the thermodynamic behavior of ultrathin polymer films.

Evidence for Anion‐Anion Interaction in Amino Acid Ionic Liquids Probed by Far‐Infrared Spectroscopy

Spectroscopic evidence for doubly hydrogen bonded anionic dimers in amino acid ionic liquids is provided. The torsional motion of the amine groups is characteristic for cation‐anion and anion‐anion interaction as observed in far‐infrared spectra.
