Serum neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio in retinopathy of prematurity
Journal of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, 2015To evaluate the relationship between serum neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and development of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).Infants with a gestational age of ≤32 week were screened for ROP. Complete blood cell, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, and interleukin 6 levels of subjects were measured within the first 24 hours of life.

Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio as indicator of ozone exposure
Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, 1967Abstract Readily measurable differences in the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratios have been demonstrated to occur in rats exposed to 3 ppm for 2 hours. The N/L ratio differences occurred within a few hours after exposure, reached a maximum within 2.5 to 12 hours, and returned to preexposure values in 24 hours.

Neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio in head and neck cancer
Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology, 2015AbstractIntroductionThe neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is an index of systemic inflammatory burden in malignancy. An elevated NLR has been associated with poor prognosis in a number of cancer sites. We investigated its role in a cohort of patients with locally advanced head and neck cancer.MethodsEligible patients had primary mucosal squamous ...

Neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio predicts anastomotic dehiscence
ANZ Journal of Surgery, 2018BackgroundAnastomotic dehiscence (AD) is the most feared complication following colonic and rectal anastomosis. Multiple attempts have been made to correlate the levels of biomarkers to the risk of AD. This study attempts to compare C‐reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT) and neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (NLR) as predictors of AD.MethodThis ...

The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is a strong predictor of mortality in patients with cancer. Similarly, a study in a large series has shown that the newly defined derived NLR (dNLR; neutrophil/leukocyte-lymphocyte ratio) also has prognostic value.

Neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio and platelet‐to‐lymphocyte ratio in retinal vein occlusion
Clinical and Experimental Optometry, 2020To evaluate the association between neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and the development of retinal vein occlusion. One hundred and eleven patients and 88 control subjects were enrolled. Retinal vein occlusion diagnosis was clinically made with fundus examination.
