CO2 High-Temperature Electrolysis Technology Toward Carbon Neutralization in the Chemical Industry

open access: yesEngineering, 2023
The chemical industry is a major carbon emitter in China and must be focused on for China to achieve its goal of carbon neutralization. Carbon dioxide (CO2) high-temperature electrolysis based on solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs) is an important ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Study on Tough Blends of Polylactide and Acrylic Impact Modifier

open access: yesBioResources, 2014
Acrylic impact modifiers (ACRs) with different soft/hard monomer ratios (mass ratios) were prepared by semi-continuous seed emulsion copolymerization using the soft monomer butyl acrylate and the hard monomer methyl methacrylate, which were used to ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Effects of Bio-based Plasticizers on Mechanical and Thermal Properties of PVC/Wood Flour Composites

open access: yesBioResources, 2014
Poly(vinyl chloride)/wood flour (WPVC) composites with dioctyl phthalate (DOP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), cardanol acetate (CA), or epoxy fatty acid methyl ester (EFAME) were prepared using twin-screw extrusion.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

PdAg Bimetallic Nanoparticles Encapsulated in Porous Carbon Derived from UIO-66 as Electrocatalyst for Oxygen Reduction and Hydrogen Evolution Reactions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2019
Developing dual functional electrocatalyst for both oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is critical for promoting energy conversion efficiency in fuel cells and metalair batteries, and produce hydrogen with high purity ...
