On calculating the slice genera of 11- and 12-crossing knots
This paper contains the results of efforts to determine values of the smooth and the topological slice genus of 11- and 12-crossing knots. Upper bounds for these genera were produced by using a computer to search for genus one concordances between knots.

New Species of Occasjapyx From the Interior Highlands (Insecta: Diplua: Japygidae) [PDF]
A new species of Japygidea, Occasjapyx carltoni is described from the Ozark Mountains of the Interior Highlands. This is the first record of the genus outside of California in North America.

This review identifies key design considerations for insect‐inspired microrobots capable of multimodal locomotion. To draw inspiration, biological and robotic strategies for moving in air, on water surfaces, and underwater are examined, along with approaches for crossing the air–water interface.

The Lepidoptera fauna of Europe is among the best studied in the world, and new species are only rarely discovered that do not fit in the existing classification. We present an unknown Geometridae from the Canary Islands (Spain), which, according to the

Genus Computing for 3D digital objects: algorithm and implementation [PDF]
This paper deals with computing topological invariants such as connected components, boundary surface genus, and homology groups. For each input data set, we have designed or implemented algorithms to calculate connected components, boundary surfaces and

Auditory–Tactile Congruence for Synthesis of Adaptive Pain Expressions in RoboPatients
In this work, we explore auditory–tactile congruence for synthesizing adaptive vocal pain expressions in robopatients. Using a robopatient platform that integrates vocal pain sounds with palpation forces, we conducted 7680 trials across 20 participants.

Generalized Property R and the Schoenflies Conjecture
There is a relation between the generalized Property R Conjecture and the Schoenflies Conjecture that suggests a new line of attack on the latter. The approach gives a quick proof of the genus 2 Schoenflies Conjecture and suffices to prove the genus 3 ...
