A new taxon in the genus Neisseria
Annales de l'Institut Pasteur / Microbiologie, 1983Among 3,520 strains of Neisseria and Branhamella received in the laboratory during the last seven years, 13 could not be speciated. These 13 strains (Neisseria sp. group) were isolated from the throats of healthy children in Europe and Africa. The Neisseria sp. group oxidized glucose and maltose similarly to N. meningitidis.

Chainia, a New Genus of the Actinomycetales
Nature, 1955AN actinomycete isolated from soil in Poona showed on examination characters representing an undescribed genus. The species was saprophytic, aerobic and mesophilic, growing readily on the various nutrient agar media employed. The colonies on glucose–peptone agar are faint cream-yellow in early stages, with well-developed fine non-septate mycelium, 0.4 ...

Systematic and Applied Microbiology, 1983Trimorphomyces Bandoni and Oberw. gen. nov. (Tremellaceae) includes a single species, T. papilionaceus Bandoni and Oberw. sp. nov., which parasitizes Arthrinium sphaerospermum Fckl. The sporocarps are mainly or entirely conidial at first; conidia and basidia are mixed in mature basidiocarps. The basidia are cruciately-septate, stalked.
