Investigating differences in village-level heterogeneity of malaria infection and household risk factors in Papua New Guinea

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Malaria risk is highly heterogeneous. Understanding village and household-level spatial heterogeneity of malaria risk can support a transition to spatially targeted interventions for malaria elimination.

Development of Carbon‐11 Labeled Pyrimidine Derivatives as Novel Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Agents Enabling Brain Sigma‐1 Receptor Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Novel carbon‐11 labeled pyrimidine derivatives are developed as PET imaging probes for visualizing sigma‐1 receptors in the brain. [11C]CNY‐01 demonstrates superior brain uptake and binding specificity in both rodents and non‐human primates. The study reveals decreased sigma‐1 receptor expression in Alzheimer's disease, offering a promising tool for ...

Robust Controlled Degradation of Enzyme Loaded PCL‐Based Fibrous Scaffolds Toward Scarless Skin Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel biodegradable wound dressing (E‐PCLs) based on polycaprolactone (PCL) and an enzyme complex (RHP‐BCL) is developed using a fiber microfluidic electrospinning technique. The dressing achieves complete degradation within 14 days, eliminates microplastic residues, and promotes scar‐free healing (99% in 21 days).

Insufficient duration of insecticidal efficacy of Yahe® insecticide-treated nets in Papua New Guinea

open access: yesMalaria Journal
Background Insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) are the backbone of anti-malarial vector control in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Over recent years the quality and performance of ITNs delivered to PNG decreased, which has likely contributed to the stagnation in the

Electronic properties of graphene multilayers [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Lett. 97, 266801 (2006), 2006
We study the effects of disorder in the electronic properties of graphene multilayers, with special focus on the bilayer and the infinite stack. At low energies and long wavelengths, the electronic self-energies and density of states exhibit behavior with divergences near half-filling.

Stringency and dissimilarity of Maximum Residue Levels affect bilateral agri‐food trade stability

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
Abstract Food standards are rising in both prevalence and stringency. They protect consumers and may enhance demand stability but also pose compliance challenges to producers, with ambiguous effects on the stability of trade relationships. We analyze the impact of importers' Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) along with bilateral MRL dissimilarity between ...

Legal Implementation On Land Border Management Between Indonesia And Papua New Guinea According to Stephen B. Jones Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In the opinion of Stephen B. Jones the management of the border consists of (1) allocation, (2) delimitation, (3) the demarcation of boundaries in the field, and (4) boundary administration. The land border between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea has been

Intrinsic frustration effects in anisotropic superconductors [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Lattice distortions in which the axes are locally rotated provide an intrinsic source of frustration in anisotropic superconductors. A general framework to study this effect is presented. The influence of lattice defects and phonons in $d$ and $s+d$ layered superconductors is studied.
