A Contribution to the agromyzid leaf miners (Diptera: Agromyzidae) of Iran

open access: yesBiologica Nyssana, 2012
A study was carried out during 2009 and 2010 in Sistan region located in the eastern part of Iran, for elucidating the agromyzid fauna. The specimens were collected by rearing of the mine-infested leaves of different cultivated and non-cultivated host ...

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

Emergent Spin‐Glass Behavior in an Iron(II)‐Based Metal–Organic Framework Glass

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A one‐pot, solvent‐free synthesis yields an Fe2+‐based metal‐organic framework (MOF) glass featuring a continuous random network structure. The material exhibits spin‐glass freezing at 14 K, driven by topological‐disorder and short‐range magnetic frustration, showcasing the potential of MOF glasses as a plattform for cooperative magnetic phenomena in ...

Argulus coregoni (Crustacea: Branchiura: Argulidae) Parasitic on a Dark Chub Nipponocypris temminckii (Cypriniformes: Xenocyprididae) in a Stream, Central Japan, with a List of Its Known Hosts in East Asia

open access: yesSpecies Diversity
An adult male specimen of Argulus coregoni Thorell, 1864 was collected from the body surface of a dark chub Nipponocypris temminckii (Temminck and Schlegel, 1846) at 15 m elevation in a small stream in central Japan.

An All‐Optical Driven Bio‐Photovoltaic Interface for Active Control of Live Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bio‐photovoltaic Interface (BIO‐PV‐I) for live cell manipulation is presented. BIO‐PV‐I can be activated non‐invasively and remotely to control the spatial motility, adhesion, and morphology of cells adhering to it. BIO‐PV‐I uses a patterned light‐induced electric potential in iron‐doped lithium niobate crystals whose light‐driven and reversible nature,

DNA‐Templated 2D Heterostructures as Phototriggered Dynamic Nanohybrids: From Releasing Molecular Loads to Controlling Enzyme Biocatalytic Function

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.
