A Survey of Self-Interference in LTE-Advanced and 5G New Radio Wireless Transceivers

open access: yesIEEE transactions on microwave theory and techniques, 2020
This article presents a comprehensive survey of the literature on self-interference (SI) in long-term evolution advanced (LTE-A) and fifth-generation (5G) new radio transceivers and should serve the reader as a guide and starting point for further work ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Optical and radio properties of giant radio quasars: Central black hole characteristics

open access: yes, 2012
We analysed the optical and radio properties of lobe-dominated giant-sized (> 0.72 Mpc) radio quasars and compared the results with those derived for a sample of smaller radio sources to determine whether the large size of some extragalactic radio ...

New Radio (NR) and its Evolution toward 5G-Advanced

open access: yesIEEE wireless communications, 2019
New Radio (NR), which is part of Release 15 of Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) standards, marks the first fifth generation (5G) standards designed to meet the requirements set forth by the International Telecommunication Union for IMT-2020 ...

Engineering tandem VHHs to target different epitopes to enhance antibody‐dependent cell‐mediated cytotoxicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tandem VHH targeting distinct EGFR epitopes were engineered into a monovalent bispecific antibody (7D12‐EGA1‐Fc) with more potent ADCC without increasing affinity to EGFR. Structural modeling of 7D12‐EGA1‐Fc showed cross‐linking of separate EGFR domains to enhance CD16a engagement on NK cells.

Are the hosts of VLBI selected radio-AGN different to those of radio-loud AGN?

open access: yes, 2016
Recent studies have found that radio-AGN selected by radio-loudness show little difference in terms of their host galaxy properties when compared to non-AGN galaxies of similar stellar mass and redshift.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.
