Abstract This chapter evaluates New Urbanism. Hundreds of self-identified New Urbanist developments, from infill blocks to complete planned communities, have been constructed since the mid-1980s, mostly in the United States. The most visible New Urbanist communities are greenfield developments outside of existing cities.
