(Hyper) local news aggregation

Proceedings of the 13th Annual International Conference on Digital Government Research, 2012
Being able to debate, reflect, form opinions, consider counter evidence and make informed decisions is a foundation of civic life in democratic societies. Government benefits from broad participation in collective decision making in terms of sustainable outcomes (e.g., greater consensus) and quality of life in our cities and communities.

Developing new portfolio strategies by aggregation

Annals of Operations Research, 2019
The authors propose a method to optimally combine N strategies having a given utility function. These strategies should be numerically computed, there is no requirement that strategies should have closed-form expression. It is used a nonparametric method to compute the optimal weights of combination.

Multidimensional Relevance: A New Aggregation Criterion

2009
In this paper, a new model for aggregating multiple criteria evaluations for relevance assessment is proposed. An information retrieval context is considered, where relevance is modelled as a multidimensional property of documents. In the paper, the proposed aggregation operator is applied to define a model for personalized Information Retrieval (IR ...

New aspects of erythrocyte aggregation

Clinical Hemorheology and Microcirculation, 1988
We studied blood and plasma viscosity, hematocrit, erythrocyte aggregation index and plasma protein fractions in 26 healthy subjects. We found a significant positive linear correlation between hematocrit and blood viscosity at each of the considered shear rates (low shear range), and a significant negative linear correlation between hematocrit and ...

The New Monetary Aggregates

2001
We have argued in Chapter 12 that the simple-sum method of aggregation makes strong a priori assumptions about substitution effects and the result is a set of monetary aggregates that do not accurately measure the actual quantities of the monetary products that optimizing economic agents select (in the aggregate).

Personalized News Aggregator System

International Scientific Journal of Engineering and Management
This study describes the creation of a responsive real-time news aggregator web application based on ReactJS. The web application retrieves recent headlines and categorized news from third-party APIs (e.g., NewsAPI.org), providing a dynamic and interactive user experience.

Recycled concrete—a new aggregate

Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering, 1978
Large urban centres in Canada and the United States are finding it increasingly difficult to locate and develop natural aggregate sources for use in concrete. The study reported herein was therefore undertaken to investigate the possibility of producing aggregates from discarded concrete control test cylinders, normally sent to waste dumps after ...

New trends in information aggregation

IECON'01. 27th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (Cat. No.37243), 2002
Information aggregation is one of the key issues in the development of intelligent systems, like neural networks, neuro-fuzzy systems, fuzzy knowledge based systems, vision and decision making systems, etc. Fuzzy set theory provides a host of attractive aggregation operators for integrating the membership values representing uncertain information.

A new carboniferous sporangial aggregation

Review of Palaeobotany and Palynology, 1972
Abstract This work describes a new structurally preserved sporangial aggregation of Pennsylvanian age. The fructification consists of numerous thick-walled sporangia which are attached to vascularized bract-like structures by elongate pedicels. Spores are trilete and ornamented by irregular verrucae; ultrastructurally the spore wall is tectate.
