Future warming shifts precipitation from snow to rain across the Saskatchewan River Basin, reducing snow water equivalent and advancing snowmelt timing. Differences among precipitation phase‐partitioning methods propagate from snowpack accumulation to runoff magnitude and timing, producing earlier spring flows and higher peak discharge.

Abstract Auroral transport models (ATMs) play an important role in quantitative studies of optical auroras, their driving mechanisms, and their effects on the ionosphere and thermosphere. TREx‐ATM was initially developed as the support model for the Transition Region Explorer (TREx) mission, and has gained increasing applications in the community in ...

Stability algorithms for Newton-Raphson method in load flow analysis
This paper deals with possible algorithms, which may ensure numerical stability of Newton-Raphson method in load flow analysis. Although the Newton-Raphson method is frequently used, it may have difficulties to obtain convergence.

A combined method for polynomial roots using modified Newton-Raphson with minimum searching
We derive a local geometric property of an analytic function ƒ, and, in the case where ƒ is polynomial, use it to construct a root-finding algorithm based on searching for minima of |ƒ|.

Tangent modulus in numerical integration of constitutive relations and its influence on convergence of N-R method [PDF]
For the numerical solution of elasto-plastic problems with use of Newton-Raphson method in global equilibrium equation it is necessary to determine the tangent modulus in each integration point. To reach the parabolic convergence of Newton-Raphson method

Many leaf gas exchange models predict that photosynthesis and stomatal conductance are tightly coupled and respond in parallel to changing environmental conditions. However, experiments show that when temperatures increase beyond the thermal optimum of photosynthesis, stomatal conductance may continue to rise while photosynthesis declines, facilitating
