The Surprising Bias of PPML Estimates of Structural Gravity Models With Two‐Way Fixed Effects
ABSTRACT The previous literature has shown that the Poisson Pseudo‐Maximum Likelihood (PPML) estimator provides consistent and asymptotically unbiased estimates of the parameters of structural gravity models with two‐way fixed effects, although their standard errors need correction.

Heterogeneous Graph Structure Learning for Next Point-of-Interest Recommendation
Next Point-of-Interest (POI) recommendation is aimed at predicting users’ future visits based on their current status and historical check-in records, providing convenience to users and potential profits to businesses.

Carotid artery dissection linked to intermittent apnoeic swimming: A case–control study
Abstract Internal carotid artery (ICA) dissection is a rare and potentially devastating cause of cerebral ischaemia, initiated by an intimal tear or rupture of the vasa vasorum, that can lead to an intraluminal thrombus, vascular stenosis, occlusion, or dissecting aneurysm formation.

Adaptive Fusion of Dual-Scale Preference Disentanglement for Next POI Recommendation
Next point-of-interest (POI) recommendation has emerged as a key research topic within location-based social networks. Prior studies suggest that combining users’ enduring preferences with their short-term behaviors can substantially improve ...

A mutation‐based approach (MBA) to rebalance defect datasets improves recall, particularly in cross‐project prediction, but increases false alarms and does not consistently enhance MCC or AUC. These findings highlight both the potential and limitations of mutation‐based rebalancing in software defect prediction.

In Vitro Fertilization is Essential Healthcare for Patients With Rheumatic Disease
Infertility presents a profound physical, emotional, and financial burden, particularly for rheumatology patients who often face substantial barriers to family building. The 2024 Alabama Supreme Court ruling in LePage v. Center for Reproductive Medicine equating embryo destruction with wrongful death introduced new legal uncertainties, sparking ...

A hybrid system for personalized next point-of-interest recommendations using deep learning and fuzzy logic [PDF]
We propose TourOptiGuide, a hybrid tourism recommendation prototype that integrates deep learning and fuzzy logic for context-aware point-of-interest (POI) suggestion. The system generates next-POI recommendations by jointly considering four factors: the

Where to Go Next: A Spatio-temporal LSTM model for Next POI Recommendation
Next Point-of-Interest (POI) recommendation is of great value for both location-based service providers and users. Recently Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) have been proved to be effective on sequential recommendation tasks. However, existing RNN solutions rarely consider the spatio-temporal intervals between neighbor check-ins, which are essential ...
