Thermal decomposition of (NH4)2MoO2S2, (NH4)2MoS4, (NH4)2WO2S2 and (NH4)2WS4
Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1973Abstract The thermal decomposition of (NH 4 ) 2 MoO 2 S 2 ,(NH 4 ) 2 MoS 4 , (NH 4 ) 2 WO 2 S 2 and (NH 4 ) 2 WS 4 has been studied by DTA and TGA methods. All compounds decompose in two steps. The tetrathio compounds decompose as represented by the equations, (NH 4 ) 2 MeS 4 → 2NH 3 + H 2 O + MeS 3 MeS 3 → MeS 2 + S (Me Mo, W).

Neutron scattering study of NH4+ motion in NH4+ β-alumina
Solid State Communications, 1977Abstract Incoherent inelastic neutron scattering has been used to study the motion of NH 4 + ions in NH 4 + β-alumina. The results establish that jump reorientation of NH 4 + ions is rapid compared to translational diffusion: The data are consistent with thermally activated jumps between equivalent NH 4 + orientations with a proton jump ...
